Red Bull New York have loaned forward Serge Ngoma to Birmingham Legion FC through December 31, 2026, the club announced today.
“We’re grateful for everything Serge has given the club so far, this loan is about putting him in the best possible position to play regularly and keep developing his game,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “He’s worked hard for this opportunity, and we’ll be supporting him every step of the way.”
Ngoma, 20, has been with New York since the 2022 season. He has made 35 career MLS appearances, where he has scored four goals. Last season, Ngoma made 20 appearances and recorded one goal. The Plainfield, N.J. native scored his first career MLS goal on June 30, 2022, against Atlanta United FC. At the time, he became the third youngest player in league history to score a game-winner in the 85th minute or later behind only Freddy Adu and Eddie Gaven.
The forward also spent time with Red Bull New York II during his time the club. He made his professional debut for RBNY II on September 23, 2020, against Charleston Battery. During the 2021 season, Ngoma scored three goals, which tied a club record for the most goals scored by an Academy player in a single season. He was also a product of Red Bulls Academy.
