Sunday’s match between the New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy marks the final September match for the Red Bulls as the playoffs near. With five regular season games remaining, September 28’s match marks the final away game for RBNY as they are soon to begin a three game home-stand.

Here are some numbers to consider before Sunday’s clash.

  • 3 – Number of goals that separate Bradley Wright-Phillips from tying the all-time single season goal record of 27. His 24 goals ties him for fifth place on the list with Carlos Ruiz, and is ahead of the scoring pace of record holders Roy Lassiter and Chris Wondolowski
  • 4 – Consecutive games the Red Bulls have gone undefeated in MLS competition. They remain undefeated in the month of September (3-0-1), and their last loss in September was back in the 2012 season
  • 5 – Amount of multi-goal games for Bradley Wright-Phillips this season. Sunday’s hat-trick was his third of the season, and he currently leads the MLS Golden Boot race by five goals.
  • 13 – Total assists for Thierry Henry this season, fourth most in MLS. Sunday’s match will include three of MLS’s top assist-men, with league-leader Robbie Keane (15) and Landon Donovan (14).
  • 98 – Saves this season by Luis Robles, enough for second in the league behind San Jose goalkeeper Jon Busch. In last week’s win against Seattle, Robles had four saves including a double-save which is a candidate for MLS Save of the Week
  • .500 – The Red Bulls’ record this season in matches played on Sunday (2-2-2). Following the game in LA, New York’s final MLS home-match vs. Columbus and the final regular season game at Sporting Kansas City mark their only Sunday matches remaining.

Coverage of Sunday’s match at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. will begin at 8:30 p.m. (TV: ESPN 2, ESPN Deportes).
