Red Bulls Secure Home Matchup vs. FC Cincinnati in Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs

HARRISON, N.J. (October 9, 2022) – The New York Red Bulls are set to host FC Cincinnati in Round One of 2022 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs on Saturday, October 15 at Red Bull Arena, the club announced today. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET locally on MSG, MSG GO and national coverage on UniMas and TUDN. It will also be available on New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

The Red Bulls are the No. 4 seed after finishing the season with a 15-11-8 mark in the regular season to clinch home field advantage in the opening round of the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs. New York clinched their 13th consecutive postseason berth, which is the longest active streak in MLS and is tied for the longest streak in league history.

New York have qualified 23 times for the MLS Cup Playoffs, which is the most in league history, and have only missed out on the playoffs four times in franchise history. The Red Bulls’ consecutive streak of 13 postseason berths is the longest stretch among major sports teams in the New York metro area in 2022.

This will be the first time New York and FC Cincinnati have ever faced each other in the postseason. The two clubs battled to two draws this season, but the Red Bulls hold the advantage in the overall series with a 4-2-3 mark.
