Red Bulls to Test Depth of Roster Against Kansas City, Philadelphia

Jesse Marsch 050117

The New York Red Bulls, preparing for their second and third game in eight days, will see their depth put to the test against Sporting Kansas City and Philadelphia Union on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.

Head Coach Jesse Marsch said that the team will "use some rotation" over the next two games.

"We think we’re deep," Marsch said after training on Monday. "It’s a good opportunity to learn more about ourselves and put guys to the test. We’ll try to figure out which guys are the ones that we think are ready to recover and repeat and go again."

The head coach said they would shuffle players in both games, but the goal will be to execute their game plans, no matter which players are on the field.

"If we get eleven good performances, then our chances of winning are exponentially higher," Marsch said.
