Second Half Adjustments Key vs. Columbus

The Red Bulls were not pleased with their first half performance against Columbus, and went into to the locker room knowing they needed to make key adjustments, in order to avoid leaving Ohio with a loss.

"We came in at halftime, we made a couple of adjustments tactically and then challenged the guys to really be up for the challenge," Head Coach Jesse Marsch said.

Captain Luis Robles, who returned from a four-match absence, due to a knee injury, felt that the Red Bulls were in a good spot, even though they were down 1-0 at the half.

"As I was walking in, I saw that the cloud cover was coming, and I just knew it was going to be a different half in the second half," Robles said. "Columbus gave us their best, and yet, we're in a decent position to get a result, and that's what halftime was about, regrouping, not only tactically, but physically."

The Red Bulls came out of the locker room determined, were far more aggressive, and were rewarded, when Alex Muyl headed in a goal, off the foot of Marc Rzatkowski, to tie the game 1-1.

Although the Red Bulls didn't come away with a win, Marsch believes the draw can be deemed as one.

"Sometimes draws feel like draws and sometimes they feel like a win," Marsch said. "A lot of them played major minutes on Wednesday, so to turn around and then put that kind of effort in and be rewarded for it, I think will continue to galvanize our group and create belief within the team."
