New York Red Bulls ended the Barclays New York Challenge on a high as they beat Man City 2-1 to condemn the English Premier League side to their second-straight defeat. Winger Dane Richards was the hero for the home side as he set up Macoumba Kandji’s first-half opener before securing the win with a second half thunderbolt, after Jô had equalised for City.

The win meant the Red Bulls finished the tournament in third behind Sporting Lisbon and Tottenham.

The Red Bulls renew their rivalry with City Football group on Sunday as RBNY take on New York City FC in the first-ever match between the two clubs. Limited tickets are still available.
