New York Red Bulls midfielder Wiki Carmona has been called into the Venezuela Men’s National Team for their upcoming international friendlies in October, the federation announced today.
Carmona, 22, is in his fifth season with the Red Bulls, where he has made 100 career MLS appearances and has recorded five goals and seven assists. This season, Carmona has appeared in 32 games and tallied three assists, which ties his single season career high.
The midfielder will be seeking his first career appearance with the Venezuela National Team. This will be his second career call-up to the senior national team after being called up in January 2022 for a camp. Carmona has made 10 appearances for Venezuela Youth National Teams, including the U-17’s and U-20’s. His most recent call-up was for the Venezuela U-23 Olympic qualifying team in October 2023.
Carmona and Venezuela will participate in two international friendlies during the October window. First, they will face Argentina on Friday, October 10 at Hard Rock Stadium and then they will play Belize on Tuesday, October 14 at SeatGeek Stadium.
