WORLD CUP: Escobar and Murillo Go 90 Against England

Panama 6.24.18

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, RUSSIA (June 24, 2018) - Red Bulls defenders Fidel Escobar and Michael Amir Murillo both played the full 90 for Panama in a 6-1 loss to England Sunday morning at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. This was their second match in a row where both teammates played the entire match.

The loss eliminated Panama’s chances of advancing to the next round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The lone bright spot of the match came in the 78th minute when Felipe Baloy scored Panama’s first-ever World Cup goal.

Murillo picked up a yellow card in the 72nd minute, his second of the tournament, which means he will miss Panama’s third and final group stage match Thursday against Tunisia (2 p.m. ET.).
