Red Bulls defender Teem Tainio has advanced to the final stages of MLSsoccer.com's Save of the Year contest. For the past two weeks Tainio has come out on top and advanced slowly but surely to the last leg of the contest. In week one, he finished first over Donovan Ricketts (Los Angeles), Milos Kocic (Toronto FC) and Seattle's Kasey Keller. The field of 16 posed little challenge as well, as Tainio beat out two more Kasey Keller saves and a Troy Perkins sprawling stop.
Now it's time for Tainio to seal the deal, close out strong and take home the Save of the Year title.
Vote now for Tainio as he looks to pass two stops from Troy Perkins (Portland) and another from Kasey Keller (Seattle). Voting is open until 11:59 pm PT on Monday, Nov. 14.
