The Red Bulls Academy continued its winning ways this weekend with a combined 9-0 record.

The Under-18 Red Bulls kicked off their weekend with an impressive 4-2 victory over Potomac. Brandon Allen continued his excellent start to the season, scoring two goals while adding an assist. Danny Bedoya’s first two goals of the season rounded out the Red Bulls’ scoring, with Ross Tetro providing two assists. On Saturday, the Under-18’s faced off against fellow MLS side D.C. United, and goalkeeper Santiago Castano shined in earning the shutout in a 2-0 win. Allen once again was a catalyst for the Red Bulls’ attack, scoring the game’s opening goal right after halftime, his eighth of the season. Then, Allen set up Bedoya for a goal in the 85th minute to effectively put the game away.

The Under-16 Red Bulls scored a combined eight goals in their two-victory weekend. On Saturday, the U-16’s knocked off Potomac, 3-0, behind a solid defensive effort and performance from goalkeeper Joe Ohaus. Amando Moreno notched a goal and an assist, with Izzy Tandir and Malcolm Dixon rounding out the scoring. D.C. United provided a tougher test on Sunday, but the U-16’s still came away victorious by a 5-2 score. Moreno, Tandir and Dixon once again all found the back of the net, while Adam Najem tallied a brace.

Harrison Steadman enjoyed a banner weekend for the Under-15 Red Bulls, who also swept their weekend matches over Potomac and D.C. United. On Saturday, the Red Bulls knocked off Potomac 5-0, with Steadman leading the way with a hat trick. Tarik Gazko and Nick Montgomery also scored in the match. On Sunday the team traveled to take on D.C. United, and again it was Steadman who led the way. Once again he knocked in three goals, two before halftime and one after. The Red Bulls’ defense held firm throughout, and the team held on for a 3-0 shutout win.

The Under-14 Red Bulls found their scoring ways as well in comfortable wins over Potomac and D.C. United. Four first half goals against Potomac paved the way on Saturday, with Jerel Blades scoring twice before the interval. Newcomer Jose Huerta scored twice in the second half as the Red Bulls rolled to an easy victory. On Sunday, the U-14’s matched up with D.C. United, and again they were quick to strike. Gideon Metrikin, Kyle Zajec and Henry Martin paced the Red Bulls to a 3-0 halftime advantage, while Jonas Halvorsen found the back of the net twice in the second half. D.C. United was able to pull one back, but it wasn’t nearly enough as the Red Bulls took the game 5-1.

On Saturday, the Under-13 Red Bulls played an exciting back and forth match against Met Oval and came away with a dramatic victory. Trailing 1-0 entering the second half, the Red Bulls went ahead on two goals by Markez Zalla. A long-range strike by Met Oval late in the match made the game seem headed for a draw. However, with under a minute remaining in the game, Dantae Greer set up Danny Laranetto for the late-game winner.
