On Saturday evening before the New York Red Bulls and D.C. United kick off at 8 PM on NBC Sports, all eyes will be on Cahill. Only this time, it will not only be Tim.

For a few moments prior to the match, Kyah Cahill, Tim Cahill’s 10-year-old son, will be in the spotlight singing the National Anthem at Red Bull Arena in front of thousands of Red Bulls fans.

Kyah is familiar with being under the bright lights, on the big stage, and in front of thousands of people. In fact, he lives for it. His dream is not to be a soccer superstar like his father. Instead, he is following his dreams to be in the entertainment industry. He loves music, singing, acting, and even has dreams of being on Broadway someday.

In July, Kyah was one of thousands of children who were at “THE Event” in Orlando. THE Event is a competition for children who possess big dreams of being in the entertainment industry. It provides them with the opportunity to audition before production agents and assistants for Disney, Nickelodeon and other entertainment industry professionals searching for new talents for their existing and upcoming projects. Out of 4,000 participants, Kyah finished in second place overall. Many times throughout the competition, Tim encouraged his Twitter followers and fans to “Like” his son’s picture on THE Event’s Facebook page and also provided updates on his son’s journey at the competition.

And if the attached Tweet isn't a clear enough indication, rest assured Tim is his son’s biggest fan.

This summer, when he was not spending time on rollercoasters with his two brothers, sister, and father at Six Flags Great Adventure, kicking a soccer ball in the backyard, or taking in a match at Red Bull Arena, he was practicing his singing and acting. He even went into New York City for the day to catch the Broadway show “Matilda.”

Kyah may not be following in the footsteps of his father exactly, but the Cahill work ethic is more than apparent as he continues to pursue his dream at any cost.

Like father, like son.
