Top moments of 2013: No. 2

To close out 2013, we asked Red Bulls fans to re-visit the top 10 moments of the season, featuring some of the best plays, games, and performances from the Supporters' Shield championship season. Then we asked you to rank those moments from 1-10.



Many of you answered the call, and now it's time to find out how you voted with the publication of the top three moments.


The No. 2 moment of 2013 stands out not so much for one moment of individual brilliance, but for a wild night at Red Bull Arena and the club's resolve after surrendering a two-goal lead, only to rally with two goals in the game's final minutes to pull out a win. The No. 2 moment of the New York Red Bulls' 2013 season is Dax McCarty's game-winning header to beat Real Salt Lake on July 27. The topsy-turvy match, named MLSsoccer.com's Game of the Year and described by McCarty as "one of the craziest games I've ever been a part of," left an indelible imprint on every soccer fan in attendance that night.
