Match Preview: NYRB II Takes Winning Streak to Toronto

HARRISON, N.J. (August 23, 2016) – New York Red Bulls II heads to Toronto on Wednesday, looking to extend the winning streak to four games against Toronto FC II. Kickoff on Wednesday night is scheduled for 7 p.m., with a live stream provided by TFC II and USL.


NYRB II became the first team to clinch a USL playoff spot last Friday night with a 1-0 victory over Louisville City FC. NYRB II sits atop the Eastern Conference with a 15-3-5 record.


Brandon Allen scored the game-winning goal against TFC II on a penalty and leads NYRB II with 11 goals this season. NYRB II has won three straight, outscoring opponents 11-1, since dropping back-to-back games in July.


Ryan Meara earned the shutout on Friday, his eighth of the season. NYRB II has kept 12 clean sheets in 23 games this season.


TFC II enters at 6-14-5, in 12th place in the East with 23 points. The teams have met once previously this season, playing to a 2-2 draw at Red Bull Arena on opening day.
