After using the past week to integrate Red Bulls academy players and trialists into the group, head coach John Wolyniec hopes to see his team “take the next step.”

“I think we’ve gotten a little bit more on the same page through some games,” Wolyniec said. “We’ll see some guys play some more minutes, get some guys closer to being fit for 90 minutes. Hopefully the tactics take the next step.”

The match against New England will be the Arizona group’s third and final game together. After a loss to Sporting KC and a draw with Houston Dynamo, the squad feels ready for their next test.

“I think it’s going to be a good challenge for us,” said NYRB II midfielder Vincent Bezecourt. “We want to have a good performance against a good team…it’s a good opportunity again so it’s up to us to show what we have.”

The Red Bulls have been working on group tactics throughout the week and hope to play more as a team in their final match. Individually, the players are ready to do whatever it takes to continue moving forward as a group.

“I want to try to get the tactics first and then technically do whatever I can do,” Bezecourt said. “Fitness-wise, I would like to go 90 [minutes] and be sharp on the ball, in my pressing, and get a good result.”
