After Exciting Win In First Game, Red Bulls Looking Toward Home Opener

With the New York Red Bulls riding high after picking up three points on the road, they’ll open Red Bull Arena against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.

Head Coach Jesse Marsch said the Rapids looked “organized” and “more dangerous” in their first game of the season.

“You know you’re going to get a hard-nosed, organized, defensive team that’s going to make it really hard on us,” Marsch said.

Colorado has never won at Red Bull Arena, but are 6-9-4 all-time in Red Bulls home stadiums.

Marsch compared Colorado to the Vancouver Whitecaps, who New York lost to in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League.

“We have to have more solutions [against Colorado] than we did [against Vancouver], so we’ll work on some things this week, but we’ll be ready for a big challenge,” Marsch said.

The Red Bulls and Rapids are set to kick off at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.
