HARRISON, N.J. (March 10, 2017) - The New York Red Bulls return home to open the eighth MLS season at Red Bull Arena on Saturday when the Colorado Rapids come to town. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, with coverage on UniMas and Red Bulls Radio.

Prior to the match, New York will recognize Metro legend Tim Howard, now a member of the Colorado Rapids, for both his time with the club and for his work with the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome.

Red Bulls Radio gets underway with Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon, at 3 p.m. ET. Harmon will call the game in English while Ernesto Motta provides Spanish play-by-play. An English television broadcast is also available on UniMas by using the SAP function. Sirius XM Channel 84 will also carry the English Red Bulls Radio broadcast.

New York is 75-24-18 at home since Red Bull Arena opened in 2010, the most home wins in all of MLS in that time. The Red Bulls have set a new record for home wins in back-to-back seasons under Jesse Marsch. New York won 12 home games in 2015, and followed that up with a 13-2-2 record in 2016.

The Red Bulls open the home slate after a 2-1 come-from-behind victory last weekend in Atlanta. After conceding in the first half, New York tied things up with a goal from Danny Royer in the 76th minute. The game-winner came in the form of an own goal in the 82nd minute, when a low Kemar Lawrence cross towards Bradley Wright-Phillips deflected in off an Atlanta defender.

Red Bulls captain Sacha Kljestan got the assist on Royer’s goal, his 35th assist as a Red Bull, now third-most in franchise history. He is the franchise’s all-time leader in assists per game and assists per 90 minutes.

Luis Robles tied another MLS record last weekend with his 141st consecutive league game played. With an appearance Saturday, Robles would break Chris Klein’s record.

After Saturday, New York heads on the road for a match against Seattle Sounders FC next Sunday, March 19. The Red Bulls are next home on Saturday, March 25 against Real Salt Lake.
