Red Bulls II expect “difficult environment” tonight in Saint Louis

STL USL stadium

New York Red Bulls II (1-1-1, 4 points) are in St. Louis, Missouri to take on Saint Louis FC (1-0-1, 4 points) Saturday night at 8:30 PM ET via USL Match Center, in what will be their fourth different venue in four games this USL season.

“It most certainly is not going to be an easy place to play, it’ll be a difficult environment,” Head Coach John Wolyniec said of the atmosphere at Toyota Stadium.

“They’ve made some commitments with players on the field, as well as the staff to bolster their roster.”

Also not lost on Coach Wolyniec is the addition to the touchline for St. Louis FC, their new manager and former two-time MLS MVP, Predrag Radosavljević (Preki.)

“Bringing in Preki, a high-level coach, he’s a guy that has had a lot of success in MLS and elsewhere,” “It’s noticeable that such an offensive-minded player in his career (Preki) has given a keen notice to the defense of his team early on this year.”

New York is 2-0-0 all-time against St. Louis FC. Both of those matchups came during the 2015 USL season.

“We have had success there before so hopefully that continues, but it’s certainly going to be a significant challenge.”
