New York Expecting 'Very Difficult' Kansas City Team

The New York Red Bulls are preparing for a "very difficult" Sporting Kansas City team on Wednesday.

"It’s going to be a great test on Wednesday and I’m looking forward to it because our team is going to be up for the challenge," Felipe said following Monday's training.

Head Coach Jesse Marsch said playing in Kansas City is "never easy" and they're looking forward to a "fun game."

"We have to go there, we have to be organized, we have to press together, we have to make sure that we’re sharp in terms of our defensive connections and movement, and then take advantage of chances," Marsch said on Monday. "Try to find ways to press, to put the game on our terms, and when we create those chances, to be aggressive to go to goal and find ways to put things on target."

Marsch said the Sporting team always presents a fast and physical challenge.

"I think more than anything that Peter’s [Vermes] teams they always compete," Marsch said. "They always are physical, they always are organized and that always gives them a chance and makes it very difficult to play against so that’s I think what we’ll see."

Felipe said New York needs to play the same way they play at home on the road.

"We just need to play with the same intensity and same dynamic we played with at home, especially against a team that plays high pressure like us," Felipe said. "It’s going to be a great challenge for each one of us because they’re a team that likes to play high pressure."
