Red Bulls Preparing for Dangerous Philly Team

Despite not notching a win this season, Philadelphia Union will present a “big challenge,” according to Head Coach Jesse Marsch.

The New York Red Bulls head coach said that the Union are backed into a corner, since they haven’t recorded a regular season win since August, 2016.

Despite the winless streak, Marsch said they will be prepared for a battle.

“We’ve never had an easy time in Philly. It’s always been an absolute battle,” Marsch said. “We’ll be prepared for that again.”

Tyler Adams hopes the Red Bulls can get a W in their road win column after starting the season with a win in Atlanta, but dropping the next four on the road.

“We’re excited to change that road record and get going on the road,” Adams said.

The midfielder said the team is looking to score an early goal and execute their gameplan to contain the Union attack. Marsch said the Red Bulls are especially concerned with Chris Pontius and CJ Sapong.

“It’s a team we respect but we love playing them,” Marsch said.
