USL Match Preview: NYRB II Look to Maintain Perfect Record at MSU

NYRB II home preview 5.20.17

HARRISON, N.J. (May 18, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II continue their three-game homestand, this time back at MSU Soccer Park on the campus of Montclair State University Saturday as they take on USL newcomer, Ottawa Fury FC at 4 PM ET via the USL Match Center.

Saturday’s match will be the first meeting between the two sides. Ottawa currently serves as the USL affiliate to the Montreal Impact (MLS).

NYRB II enter Saturday on a two-game skid falling to Charlotte Independence and LA Galaxy II last week.

Despite the two defeats, 2016 USL Rookie of the Year Brandon Allen continued his goal scoring ways for New York notching another goal off a Florian Valot assist bringing his total to five on the year. That puts him in a tie for fourth place amidst the USL leaderboard along with teammate Vincent Bezecourt.

Ottawa is currently on a four-game winless streak with their last victory coming over a month ago on the road at Richmond Kickers on April 15.

Their most recent defeat saw them drop a 1-0 contest at TD Place to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds last Saturday.

Fury FC have scored five goals total on the year by five different players making Saturday a match where Ottawa will look to push numbers forward.

Red Bulls II will look to combat their approach and maintain their perfect record at MSU Soccer Park this USL Season (3-0-0) outscoring their opponents 9-3.
