  • New York and Toronto FC ended Friday night’s match in an entertaining 1-1 draw at Red Bull Arena.
  • New York snapped its three-match losing streak to move to 5-6-2, while Toronto’s six-game winning streak ended and moved to 7-1-5.
  • Following a foul called deep inside Toronto territory, Sacha Kljestan sent his free kick into the box. Fredrik Gulbrandsen headed Kljestan’s kick, from the right side of the box to the left side for Bradley Wright-Phillips, who scored with an over-the-head finisher in the 38th minute.
  • Toronto responded in the 70th minute with a similar play off a free kick as Benoit Cheyrou knotted the game, 1-1 with the equalizer.
  • Wright-Phillips tallied his fifth goal of the season and 74th of his career. Wright-Phillips’ last three goals this year have been scored at Red Bull Arena
  • Kljestan recorded his 40th career assist as a Red Bull, becoming just the second player in franchise history to reach the milestone. Kljestan moved to within two assists of club-leader Thierry Henry.
