USL Match Preview: NYRB II Head to Richmond Eyeing First Road Win

HARRISON, N.J. (June 2, 2017) - New York Red Bulls II (4-5-2, 14 points) head to Richmond, Virginia, Saturday for a 7 p.m. kickoff to take on the Richmond Kickers (2-5-4, 10 points) at City Stadium in hopes of earning their first road victory of the year.


This will be the second matchup between the two sides this season with the first coming on April 5, MSU Soccer Park’s inaugural NYRB II match.


NYRB II defeated Richmond 1-0 with Zeiko Lewis scoring the game-winner in the 69th minute.

New York is coming off a 2-1 come-from-behind win at home over first-place Charleston Battery, Sunday.


Junior Flemmings and Derrick Etienne Jr. each scored second half goals to help overcome a 1-0 deficit.


Richmond is currently on a six-game winless streak most recently faltering at Ottawa Fury, 5-3.


Richmond holds a slight advantage over NYRB II in the all-time series, with a record of 3-2-1.


Saturday’s match is set for 7 p.m. ET and can be seen via USL Match Center.
