HARRISON, N.J. (June 13, 2017) – The New York Red Bulls (6-7-2, 20 pts) will have a break in MLS action with a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round match against rival NYCFC (7-5-3, 24 pts) on Wednesday at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET, with coverage online at NewYorkRedBulls.com and New York Red Bulls Radio on Tunein.


Wednesday’s match will be streamed live on NewYorkRedBulls.com as Steve Cangialosi will have the play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing as the analyst.


New York Red Bulls Radio gets underway with triHonda Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon, at 7 p.m. ET. Harmon will call the game in English with Steve Jolley as an analyst, while Ernesto Motta provides Spanish radio play-by-play.


The Red Bulls and NYCFC will face each other in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round on Wednesday. Both teams will now face each other four times during the 2017 regular season, three times in MLS play and once in the Open Cup. Since NYCFC entered MLS in 2015, the Red Bulls have taken care of business in five of the previous six matches, outscoring their rival, 18-5. Wednesday’s match will be the first Open Cup matchup between the two squads.


New York will appear in the Open Cup Tournament for the 21st time in franchise history. The Red Bulls are 22-19-2 all-time during the Open Cup with an appearance in the Finals in 2003. NYCFC will be competing in their third Open Cup, falling in the Fourth Round to the New York Cosmos both times.


New York will return to MLS action as they travel to Philadelphia for a match with the Union on Saturday, June 18. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
