OTTAWA, CANADA (June 24, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II scored two second-half goals in a span of two minutes, but conceded an equalizer to Ottawa’s Jamar Dixon in the fourth minute of stoppage time, grabbing a road point at TD Place.
In NYRB II’s first visit to TD Place, Ottawa opened the scoring early in the 11th minute as Ryan Williams knocked in a cross from the foot of Tucker Hume.
Zeiko Lewis came on as a 37th minute substitute in place of Douglas Martinez, who left with a groin injury.
Red Bulls II picked up the offensive attack in the second half forcing Ottawa’s goalkeeper Callum Irving into multiple saves within the first fifteen minutes of the second half.
The equalizer came for New York in the form of a 61st minute strike from Lewis slotting home Justin Bilyeu’s cross, his fifth assist on the year.
Lewis’ Red Bulls II goal extend their road scoring streak to 28 straight games.
Two minutes later, Vincent Bezecourt’s pass found a well-timed Brandon Allen run behind the Ottawa defense giving NYRB II a 2-1 lead.
The assist would be Bezecourt’s league-leading seventh on the season.
In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Dixon finished the final set piece of the match heading one home past goalkeeper Evan Louro.
Red Bulls II return home Saturday, for a 4:00 p.m. ET kickoff at MSU Soccer Park against Saint Louis FC.
