HARRISON, N.J. (July 14, 2017) – The New York Red Bulls will travel for the semifinal of the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, based on a draw conducted by U.S. Soccer on Friday morning at the Soccer House in Chicago. New York will play away at the winner of the Miami FC (NASL) and FC Cincinnati (USL) semifinal, which was rained out on Wednesday night.

Additional details for the semifinal match will be announced by U.S. Soccer once an opponent is determined.

The Red Bulls were also drawn second in the priority hosting order for the U.S. Open Cup Final, should they advance. Kansas City holds the top spot in the order, while the other Western semifinalist, San Jose, is third. Therefore, if New York advances, it would play away at Kansas City, or host San Jose in the final.

New York  advanced to the semifinals for the first time since 2003 on Thursday night by defeating the New England Revolution at Jordan Field on the campus of Harvard University. Bradley Wright-Phillips scored an 87th minute goal, while Ryan Meara earned his third USOC win in this year’s tournament.
