HARRISON, N.J. (August 18, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II (8-11-4, 28 points) welcome FC Cincinnati (8-8-7, 31 points) to MSU Soccer Park, Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET and can be seen live via the USL Match Center.
NYRB II are coming off a 1-1 draw at Charleston Battery and are in need of a result to keep pace with Orlando City B, who overtook the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot after a midweek victory.
Fresh off a defeat to the first team in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinals this past Tuesday, Saturday’s match will be Cincinnati’s first game since that defeat. Cincinnati lost both previous match-ups in 2016 to NYRB II.
Following Saturday’s match, NYRB II will finish out the USL regular season with six of their remaining eight games on the road making Saturday’s match all that more important to pick up the full three points at home.
Stefano Bonomo has made USL Team of the Week the past two weeks and is currently one of the hottest strikers in the league at the moment scoring in two games straight and three of the four he’s played this year.
New York heads back out on the road to face Ottawa Fury FC next Sunday, August 27 as newly-appointed Ottawa head coach Julian Guzman will make his home debut.
