7 Things We Learned: Draw In Dallas

7 Things FCDvNY 090217

The New York Red Bulls and FC Dallas played to a thrilling 2-2 draw in Frisco, Texas on Saturday night.

Here are 7 Things We Learned following the game:

Moving Forward

Despite being up a man for the majority of the game, the Red Bulls saw Dallas fight back twice to even the score.

"We gave away two points," Felipe said after the one-point road draw.

"I think we're pretty lucky to get a point," Jesse Marsch said. "At this point, we've got to take it, learn from this, and move forward in the right way."

Multi-Point Affair

Captain Sacha Kljestan notched a goal and an assist in the game, scoring in the 43rd minute and assisting in the 57th.

It was his 10th career multi-point match as a Red Bull.

Three-Way Tie

Kljestan's assist moved him into a three-way tie for 11th all-time in league history.

He now has 80 regular season MLS assists, tying him with Mauricio Cienfuegos and Chris Henderson.

No Goal, But Assist

Bradley Wright-Phillips didn't find the back of the net against Dallas, but did notch his first assist of the season on Kljestan's goal.

Two-Hundo

Felipe has now appeared in 200 games for the Red Bulls outside of MLS playoffs.

The midfielder has seen time in 186 MLS regular-season matches, eight U.S Open Cup and six CONCACAF Champions League matches.

Birthday Boy

Muhamed Keita, who joined the team during the most recent transfer window, made his first gameday roster appearance and saw his first minutes with the team, subbing on in the 64th minute.

All this came on his birthday, too!

One of Many

The Dallas draw kicked off a tough stretch for the Red Bulls, who will play seven games in the month of September.

The month continues with a visit to Chicago (Sept. 9), a game at home against Philadelphia (Sept. 17), on the road for the 2017 U.S. Open Cup Final in Kansas City (Sept. 20), away at Columbus (Sept. 23), return home for D.C. (Sept. 27) and finish out the month at Toronto (Sept. 30).
