One key matchup this weekend will be between midfielders Sacha Kljestan and Alejandro Bedoya.

The Red Bulls captain leads New York with 14 assists, and earned the game-tying assist against Chicago.

Bedoya, who scored in the Union’s previous match against Atlanta, has one goal and two assists this season.

Vital In-Conference Stretch

As the playoff picture continues to develop, six of the Red Bulls’ final seven MLS regular season matches are against Eastern Conference opponents.

New York faces Philadelphia at home this weekend, travels to Columbus (9/23), hosts D.C. United (9/27), and plays away against Toronto FC (9/30).

New York faces its final Western Conference opponent, Vancouver Whitecaps FC (10/7), before closing the season against Atlanta United FC (10/15) and at D.C. United (10/22).

Last weekend, the forward surpassed Robbie Keane on the MLS regular season all-time scoring list, moving into sole possession of 13th place on the MLS all-time scoring list, just five goals behind No. 12 Roy Lassiter (88).

Wright-Phillips has recorded six goals and an assist in his last seven MLS games.

Lineup Before Open Cup Final

With the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final looming on Wednesday, September 20, head coach Jesse Marsch has some decisions to make regarding lineups this weekend.

New York hosts Philadelphia on Sept. 17, plays the Open Cup Final at Sporting KC on Sept. 20, and ends the weeks at Columbus Crew SC on Sept. 23.

"We have to think about how we rotate," Marsch said. "I’m trying to figure out how to compliment the right players on the field at the right time."
