Panama Call Up Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar for Final World Cup Qualifiers

New York Red Bulls defenders Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar have been called up by the Panamanian National Team for the country’s final two World Cup Qualifiers.


Murillo, on loan from San Francisco FC, has appeared in 12 MLS matches for the Red Bulls.


Escobar, on loan from San Miguelito, has started three MLS games for New York since joining the club on July 27.


Panama faces the United States on October 6, and closes out the Hexagonal round against Costa Rica on October 10.


The top three finishers in the Hexagonal qualify for the World Cup, while fourth place advances into a home-and-home playoff against an opponent from the Asian Zone for the right to go to the World Cup.


Panama currently stands in third place of the Hexagonal.
