Both teams on Saturday will be looking to improve their standings in the Eastern Conference as they sit above the playoff line at the moment. Columbus, sits in fifth with 44 points, is just two points ahead of New York, who have two games in hand over Crew SC. The Red Bulls will look to change their fortune as they have had a tough time getting three points in Columbus, going 1-2-2 over the last five matches. New York’s last win in Columbus came on March 28, 2015.

New York has played well on the defensive side of the ball this season, owning the sixth-best goals-against average at 1.29 and two big keys for their success have been goalkeeper Luis Robles and center back Aaron Long.

Robles recorded his eighth clean sheet of the season and 47th of his career against Philadelphia with two saves. The New York netminder has tallied 16 of his 47 career shutouts away from Red Bull Arena.

In his first season as New York’s starting center back and playing minutes in MLS, Long has been key to the Red Bulls backline. The Red Bulls center back has played in all but one match across all competition. In MLS play, Long has anchored a backline in which has seen 16 different combinations.

New York returns to Red Bull Arena for a mid-week matchup against D.C. United on Wednesday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn in English and Spanish.
