Heading into the final stretch of the 2017 MLS season, the New York Red Bulls will take on Columbus Crew SC in what Head Coach Jesse Marsch said will be a "good matchup."

"They challenge us stylistically," Marsch said. "They’ve added new things to what they do this year. We always have to be on our toes because they alter our game plan specifically for things that we try to do."

The Red Bulls defeated Crew SC, 2-0 in April earlier this season. First-half goals by Alex Muyl and Daniel Royer helped the Red Bulls to victory.

Tyler Adams said he knows Crew SC will be a tough match, but New York is planning for different wrinkles the team may deploy.

"We know they have some good attackers and we need to neutralize them," Adams said. "We will take it step by step and use our tactics to get the best of them.”

Just two points separate the sixth-place New York Red Bulls and fifth-place Columbus Crew SC in the Eastern Conference standings.

"It makes for a fun matchup, always," Marsch said. "It makes for a hard game. It’s a team we respect."

New York has not dropped a regular-season game to Crew SC since July 4, 2015.

"We'll be ready," Marsch reiterated. "We'll be ready."
