USL Match Preview: NYRB II Head to Florida for Crucial Two-Game Stretch

HARRISON, N.J. (October 3, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II (12-12-5, 41 points) heads to the Sunshine State for a quick turnaround against the Tampa Bay Rowdies (12-7-10, 46 points) Wednesday at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen live via the USL Match Center.

NYRB II head into a season-defining stretch that will decide their playoff seeding and are coming off a 2-0 win at MSU Soccer Park in their regular season home finale. Saturday's win was their sixth straight home win to close out the season with a Florian Valot goal as well as an own goal giving them the full three points. The win put New York back above the playoff line into eighth place with three matches left to go.

Tampa Bay are coming off two-straight draws and sit in fourth place in the USL Eastern Conference, five points above where NYRB II sits.

In their lone previous meeting, NYRB II defeated Tampa 4-2 at MSU Soccer Park on September 2 with goals coming from a well-rounded attack consisting of Andrew Tinari, Noah Powder, Junior Flemmings and Florian Valot.

Following Wednesday’s match, NYRB II will stay in-state in anticipation of Saturday’s match against Orlando City B at Orlando City Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and can be livestreamed via the USL Match Center.
