7 Reasons To Attend Red Bulls vs. Atlanta United FC

7rta

The New York Red Bulls will play its seventeenth and final home match of the MLS regular season against Atlanta United FC on Sunday, October, 15 at 5 p.m. ET.

Here are seven reasons why you don't want to miss this weekend’s match against Atlanta.

Last Home Game of the Regular Season

With the Red Bulls now in the playoffs and looking to make a late push to get a higher seed, Sunday’s matchup should be a thrilling one. Atlanta enters the match as the Eastern Conference’s second-highest scoring club, while the Red Bulls look to build upon their 3-0 win last weekend.

Potential Playoff Preview

As things stand, Atlanta United is the number three seed in the Eastern Conference while the Red Bulls are the number six seed. If these standings held over the course of the season’s final two matches, Atlanta United would play host to the Red Bulls in a one-game knockout to determine who advances to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Revenge Match for Atlanta

Way back in March, Atlanta United lost to the New York Red Bulls 2-1 in Georgia in their first-ever MLS match. Going from regular season home opener to regular season home finale, the Red Bulls will look to do the same to Atlanta United.

Red Bull Arena is a Fortress in October

Since October 19, 2014, the Red Bulls have not lost an MLS regular season home game in October. With six-straight wins at home in October over the years, the Red Bulls look to make it seven on Sunday.

Daniel Royer

After returning to the Starting XI following his injury spell, Daniel Royer is lighting up the stat sheet for the Red Bulls. In his last two games, Royer has gotten on the scoresheet with two goals and one assist. The Austrian will look to make it three straight games with a goal this Sunday.

BWP vs. Josef Martinez

Venezuelan-international Josef Martinez enters the match having found the back of the net nine times in the last seven games. However, Martinez will need to outshine Bradley Wright-Phillips, who scored in their first matchup this season, and returned to the scoresheet last weekend with his 17th MLS goal.

Sunday is Supporters’ Day at Red Bull Arena! Come out to the stadium this Sunday and enjoy the festivities, including post-match fireworks, live music and drink specials in the the biergarten, a new 360-degree selfie activation in The BULLevard, discounts at the BullShop and more!
