HARRISON, N.J. (October 16, 2017) – With the conclusion of the 2017 USL regular season following yesterday’s matches, New York Red Bulls II, the defending 2016 USL Cup Champions, will enter this year’s edition of the USL Playoffs as the seven seed with a quarterfinals matchup at the Charleston Battery on Saturday at MUSC Health Stadium. NYRB II went 1-0-1 against the Battery this season, defeating them at MSU Soccer Park, 2-1, in May and drawing them by a 1-1 scoreline at MUSC Health Stadium in August.
NYRB II finished second in the Eastern Conference in goals scored with 57 on the year, led by forward Stefano Bonomo with 10. Vincent Bezecourt finished the regular season tied for second in assists in the USL with 11.
A win against the Charleston Battery would pit NYRB II away to the winner of the Tampa Bay Rowdies/FC Cincinnati match the following weekend.
