NYRB II Year in Review: Ethan Kutler

After being selected No. 39 in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, defender Ethan Kutler earned himself a place in the New York Red Bulls II backline after a string of quality performances.

In his 18 appearances on the year, Kutler netted his first career goal for the Red Bulls II team on Oct. 22 in a 4-0 win over the Charleston Battery. Kutler also earned one assist on the year for the team.

After four years at Colgate University, where he played as a striker, Kutler continued the transition to the fullback position, playing on both sides of the field throughout the season.

The former 2015 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year finished fifth on the team in interceptions, nabbing 43 on the year.

Additionally, Kutler boasted a commendable 74.5% pass completion rate while adjusting to his new role on the flank.
