Chris Armas: 'We Have a Committed Player in Kaku'

Kaku

Kaku is committed to the New York Red Bulls.

That was the message Head Coach Chris Armas drilled home on a conference call with reporters.

During the call, Armas spoke highly of Kaku and the way he handled rumors around other clubs' interest in the Red Bulls' playmaker, as New York continues their preparation for Champions League and MLS regular season.

“We are pleased with Kaku," Armas said. "He's only been a professional as that whole thing came and went."

Armas said that this is what is going to happen when you have a young star – other teams will come calling.

“On the inside, it wasn't a distraction, because as professionals, the guys that have been around here before, the staff, the people leading this charge, we've seen that before and there's always interest in good young players,” Armas said.

Since the Red Bulls arrived to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Armas talked about how Kaku has shown his dedication in preseason training.

“He's committed, he's doing all the fitness, he's getting along with his teammates and that's what we're focusing on," Armas said.

With the transfer window now closed for South American and European countries, Armas finished the point by talking about what the Red Bulls came away with from all of this, which was Kaku’s professionalism and commitment to his club and teammates.

“What we learned really through the whole process is how incredible he is, how his commitment level always stayed the same and his professionalism," Armas said.
