INSIDE THE 18: First Match at Red Bull Arena in 2019 Sees Familiar Lineup

Chris Armas

The New York Red Bulls will run with the same Starting XI from Leg 1, as they look to advance in Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League play.

Bradley Wright-Phillips starts up top for the Red Bulls, while Luis Robles will captain the side and start in goal.

Daniel Royer, Kaku and Alex Muyl lead the attacking midfield. Sean Davis and Marc Rzatkowski lock down the defensive midfield.

Connor Lade, Aaron Long, Tim Parker and Michael Amir Murillo start along the backline.

Murillo carries a yellow card into the match. A second yellow card in Leg 2 would see him suspended for Leg 1 of the Quarterfinals, if the Red Bulls advance.

Head Coach Chris Armas will make two changes on the bench, with Sean Nealis making his first gameday roster, and Kyle Duncan appearing on the bench for the first time in 2019.

Armas will also have Amro Tarek, Andreas Ivan, Omir Fernandez and Cristian Casseres, Jr. on the bench. Evan Louro will serve as the backup keeper.

New York is unbeaten in last eight SCCL home matches ( 2-0 vs. FAS (GS 2014-15), 1-1 vs. Montreal (GS 2014-15), 3-0 vs. Antigua (GS 2016-17), 1-0 vs. Alianza (GS 2016-17), 1-1 vs. Vancouver (QF 2016-17), 2-0 vs. Olimpia (R16 2018), 3-1 vs. Tijuana (QF 2018) and 0-0 vs. Chivas (SF 2018)).

Leg 2 of the Round of 16 is set for 8 p.m. ET with coverage on YahooSports.com and New York Red Bulls Radio in English. New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 7 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, with Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.
