HARRISON, N.J. (April 4, 2019) – New York Red Bulls II will travel to Birmingham on Saturday to take on another new face to the USL Championship, Birmingham Legion FC, at BBVA Compass Soccer Field. Kick-off is set for 8 p.m. ET, the match will be broadcasted on ESPN+.


NYRB II went back to their winning ways last Friday night against Memphis 901 FC. Jared Stroud equalized the match in the 18th minute off a cross from midfielder Ben Mines. Tom Barlow would put one in right before halftime to take the lead. Derrick Etienne, Jr. scored his 11th career goal for NYRB II to extend the lead.


Birmingham Legion FC was founded on August 9, 2017. This is their first season in the USL Championship. They most recently got their first win in franchise history over defending champions, Louisville City FC at Louisville Slugger Field. They currently sit in thirteenth place with a total of three points.


The NYRB II backline will have their hands full facing Birmingham Legion FC forward Chandler Hoffman. He has the second-most goals scored in USL Championship history with 59.
