New York Red Bulls to Host Third Annual Pride Night Presented by Bayer on Friday, June 28 at Red Bull Arena

Club to commemorate Stonewall Uprising on the 50-year anniversary of the landmark event for the gay liberation movement and fight for LGBTQ rights


HARRISON, N.J. (May 31, 2018) - On the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising on June 28, 1969, the New York Red Bulls will team up with Pride Live, as well as other local non-profit LGBTQ organizations, to host the third annual Pride Night presented by Bayer when the Chicago Fire visit Red Bull Arena. Pride Night will aim to continue to spread the message of acceptance within the community.


"On the anniversary of the historic Stonewall events, our club continues to be extremely proud to support the LGBTQ community," said Marc de Grandpre, General Manager, New York Red Bulls. "Fifty years later, the importance of inclusion and diversity remain as imperative as ever. On June 28, Red Bull Arena will take part in celebrating this very important event in our country's history."

We applaud the New York Red Bulls for being a champion for the LGBTQ+ community, fueling the movement toward full equality.”


By purchasing a ticket on newyorkredbulls.com/pride fans can automatically donate $3.00 per ticket to Pride Live, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to accelerating awareness and support for the LGBTQ+ community via social advocacy and community engagement to advance the fight for full equality. Donations are not tax deductible.


June 28 also marks Stonewall Day, a program of Pride Live and an annual celebration honoring the Stonewall legacy.


The first 750 fans to purchase tickets on newyorkredbulls.com/pride will receive an exclusive New York Red Bulls Pride Night scarf. Red Members who wish to acquire the Pride Night scarf can contact their member services representative.


The first 10,000 fans to enter Red Bull Arena will also receive a pair of sunglasses, compliments of Bayer. 


Bayer seeks to be a globally visible role model for equality and encourages their employees to be and express themselves. Children of members from the local New Jersey business resource group for LGBT+ and ally employees will be starting XI escorts and the group will also provide an employee for the official match ball delivery.


The Red Bulls will wear special jerseys to celebrate Pride Night. Game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off on newyorkredbulls.com/auctions beginning July 2 to benefit Pride Live. The exclusive Pride Night Pre-Match Top, which the Red Bulls will wear during the procession and National Anthem, will be featured as the item of the game in the Bull Shop at Red Bull Arena while supplies last.


Garden State Equality, New Jersey's largest LGBTQ advocacy organization, will have pre-match presence at the BULLevard in front of Red Bull Arena.


The Red Bulls will have a special parade float at New Jersey's 28th Annual LGBTQ Pride Celebration presented by Jersey Pride this Saturday, June 2 at noon beginning at Town Hall in Asbury Park, NJ.
