What to Watch For: NYRB II @ Loudoun United FC

Jørgensen | 6/16/19

New York Red Bulls II travel to take on Loudoun United FC on Saturday, October 19, with kick-off set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Here are three things to watch for:

One Last Go

NYRB II conclude their 2019 USL Championship regular season with a trip to Virginia to take on Loudoun United FC. The team is currently winless in their last five games following their 2-1 defeat on the road against Birmingham Legion FC. With playoffs on the horizon, NYRB II will be looking to pick up a positive result to conclude the regular season.

Even the Series

NYRB II met Loudoun United FC for the first time ever in April at MSU Soccer Park. Despite an early goal from Mathias Jørgensen, Loudoun would respond with two of their own courtesy of Orlando Sinclair and Andrew Lubahn. Now traveling to Segra Field, NYRB II will be looking to even things up at one win a piece.

Need a Hand

Currently sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference with 57 points, NYRB II are in need of some help to earn a home game in their Quarterfinal match. A win paired with a Tampa Bay Rowdies loss against Hartford Athletic would see NYRB II jump to fourth. NYRB II could also earn a playoff game at MSU Soccer Park with a draw, contingent on a Tampa Bay Rowdies loss and a Louisville City FC draw or loss against Memphis 901 FC.

Following Saturday’s match, NYRB II will have some time off to prepare for their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal game, which is scheduled for either October 26 or October 27, with coverage on ESPN+.
