CHECKING IN: Tim Parker

Tim Parker Home Opener

With the current 2020 MLS season on pause, the New York Red Bulls’ coaches, staff and players have no choice but to train from home. This will be a time for them to try new things, but to also stay active and ready for when everything returns to normalcy.

Center-back Tim Parker shared with us what he has been up to in recent days:

What are you doing with the time available?

“For the most part, most of my time is kind of being spent inside, besides taking my dog Woody out for walks. I’ve been reading a little bit. I’ve been playing a little bit of Xbox to pass some time. And just kind of cooking every meal; we’re trying to eat different things, so just trying to explore different kinds of avenues to eat stuff, and what I can do to change up a normal routine.”

How are you staying safe and in shape?

“For the majority of my time, I’m staying inside, and when I go outside to walk Woody, the first thing that I do is to make sure that I’m well-dressed. I make sure that I’m not interacting with anyone, just kind of letting him go do his business, and the first thing I do when I get back inside is wash my hands and make sure I wipe him down, wipe his paws, wipe his body. And then get back to going on throughout the day. When it comes to staying in shape, Tony [Jouaux] and the rest of the coaching staff are doing a good job of giving us programs to workout every morning, so when I wake up in the morning, I do that stuff right away, this way I can continue on with my day.”

Message to supporters

“I hope everyone is staying safe. The severity of this is very high right now; I’m hoping that everyone is with family, with loved ones, and obviously everyone is staying healthy. We know how much of a struggle this is because we’re going through it as well, but we hope to get back to the season soon.”
