Alex Muyl was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 3 of the 2019 season.
Muyl’s second-half brace lifted the New York Red Bulls over the San Jose Earthquakes, 4-1, on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.
Down 1-0 to start the second half, Daniel Royer connected with Muyl inside the box for the equalizer in the 51st minute. In the 71st minute, Muyl completed his brace as he collected a loose ball inside the six-yard box and snuck a shot to the near post to give New York the lead, 2-1.
Muyl not only collected his first two goals of the season, he recorded his first career brace.
