Emil Forsberg was named to MLS' Team of the Matchweek, presented by Audi, following his brace in RBNY's 3-1 victory.
Forsberg opened up the scoring for New York in the 74th minute, when he hit a direct free-kick from just outside the eighteen-yard box and put his attempt in the bottom left corner.
The Red Bulls added a second only two minutes later, when midfielder Daniel Edelman played Lewis Morgan in Charlotte’s box and Morgan sent a low cross towards Forsberg, who’s attempt went in the bottom right corner.
Forsberg scored his first-career multi-goal MLS match and now has four career goals at Red Bull Arena. His six goals this season, ranks tied for seventh in MLS for goals by a midfielder. Forsberg has now tallied five goal contributions in his last five MLS matches.
