New York Red Bulls Homegrown Player and Wake Forest graduate, Kevin Politz, was named to ACC Men’s Soccer-Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Politz, who signed with the Red Bulls on January 3, was a mathematical business major and was also recognized by CoSIDA as the Academic All-America of the Year and a First Team Academic All-America selection.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students.
On the field, he was picked as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and was a Third Team All-America honoree.
Prior to signing for the first team, Politz was a member of the Red Bulls Academy in August of 2010 and won U.S. Soccer Academy National Championships in both 2012 and 2013.
Over the past two summers Politz has also appeared in 20 games total for the New York Red Bulls PDL side, helping the U-23s to a plus-40 goal differential over that span.
