HARRISON, N.J. (August 3, 2026) – Red Bull New York winger Cade Cowell and Red Bull New York II forward Mijahir Jiménez, who was on a short-term agreement with RBNY this past week, have been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Match 19, the league announced today.
Jiménez, 19, earned his first career MLS start in New York’s 3-2 victory over Orlando City SC on August 1. The forward scored his first two career MLS goals in the win and became the second player in franchise history to score a brace in his first career stat. He also became the first player in franchise history to score a brace for the first team after previously or actively been on an MLS NEXT Pro contract.
Cowell, 22, tallied two assists in the win against Orlando City SC and has now recorded seven assists this season, which ranks tied for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Ceres, California native recorded his sixth career multi-assist match of his MLS career and his second as a member of the Red Bulls. The winger has recorded six goal contributions in his last seven MLS matches.
New York will face off against Atlanta United FC on Saturday, August 15 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on Apple TV in English and Spanish, and Red Bulls Radio in English via the Red Bull New York app and RedBullNewYork.com.
