HARRISON, N.J. (September 19, 2022) – The New York Red Bulls midfielder Cristian Casseres, Jr. was selected to the Venezuelan Men’s National Team roster for their upcoming September friendlies, Venezuela soccer announced today.
Casseres, Jr. and Venezuela will play in two international friendlies during September that will be held in Viena, Austria.
Casseres, Jr. will be a part of his third Venezuelan roster this calendar year. The midfielder made his most recent appearance for Venezuela coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 victory against Saudi Arabia. Casseres, Jr. has made 17 caps for the Venezuelan national team and has logged 818 minutes of action.
The Caracas, Venezuela native has made 25 MLS appearances for the Red Bulls this season, where he has tallied one goal and six assists, a new-career high. He has recorded five assists in his last four matches, which includes two multi-assist matches. His six assists on the season is tied for first in the club, and leads in MLS in assists since the beginning of August.
