"I'm a big soccer fan and have gone to many games at Red Bull Arena," said LeGrand. For me to be invited to deliver the game ball and celebrate Wings for Life Night in support of spinal cord injury research is humbling and exciting."
Running for Those Who Can't
This soccer game leads into the May 3rd Wings for Life World Run, which is a simultaneous global race dedicated to raising money for spinal cord injury.   In 35 races across six continents, including in three North American locations - Sunrise, Fla., Santa Clarita, Calif. and Niagara Falls, ON, Canada - runners will take off in a remarkable global race with no set finish line.  People will attempt to stay ahead of pursuing 'catcher cars' driven to chase and overpass them.  This innovative worldwide race with a "moving finish line" was first held in May 2014 to benefit spinal cord injury research - with the goal to find a cure - and more than $4.1 million was raised in its inaugural year.

About the Wings for Life Foundation
Wings for Life is a not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation.  Its mission is to find a cure for spinal cord injury.  The organization funds world-class scientific research and clinical trials around the globe aimed at healing the injured spinal cord.  The driving forces behind Wings for Life are two-time motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner and the founder of Red Bull, Dietrich Mateschitz. In 2003, Kinigadner's son Hannes had a tragic accident, which left him tetraplegic.  Moved by the dreadful injury, Kinigadner and Mateschitz learned there is legitimate reason to hope that traumatic spinal cord injury can be cured and realized that research into spinal cord injury was underfunded. This realization prompted Kinigadner and Mateschitz to set up the Wings for Life research foundation - with the goal of finding ways to cure all people affected.
About the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation
