Red Bull New York midfielder Dennis Gjengaar has been called into U-21 Norway camp for UEFA U-21 EURO Qualifying matches the Norway Soccer Federation announced today.
Gjengaar, 21, is in his third season with Red Bull New York and has made 52 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and tallying one assist. The midfielder also has four appearances in MLS NEXT Pro for Red Bull New York II, logging 296 minutes played.
The midfielder has featured for various Norway Youth National Teams, including the U-15’s, U-17’s, U-18’s, U-19’s, and U-20’s. He has made 19 career appearances for the youth national teams and have scored two goals.
Gjengaar made his first appearance for the Norway U-21’s, on June 6, 2025, in a 4-0 win over Wales U-21. The Horten, Norway native was most recently called up for U-21 UEFA EURO Qualifying in November 2025 where he started and played 61 minutes in Norway’s 3-0 victory over U-21 Israel on November 11, 2025.
Gjengaar and Norway will begin play on Friday, March 27 when they host U-21 Netherland at SR Bank Arena in Stavanger, Norway with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Then they’ll travel to Ptuj, Slovenia to face U-21 Slovenia on Tuesday, March 31 with kickoff set for 10:30 a.m. ET.
