New York Red Bulls forward Roald Mitchell has been named to Trinidad and Tobago National Team roster for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches in November, the federation announced today.
Mitchell, 22, is in his second season with New York, where he has made two appearances for the first team. After returning from a season-ending knee injury in 2024, Mitchell made 11 appearances with New York Red Bulls II, where he scored four goals. He also five goals during the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro playoffs and helped lead RBNY II to their first MLS NEXT Pro Cup title. Mitchell’s five goals during the playoffs is the most by a player in a single MLS NEXT Pro postseason. He scored a second half brace in New York’s 2-1 win over Philadelphia Union II to help New York win the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference Championship. In his two years with New York, Mitchell has made 20 appearances for RBNY II and has scored 17 goals.
This will be the Montclair, N.J. native’s first senior national team call up and he will be seeking his first career senior appearance. Mitchell has been called into camp for the Trinidad and Tobago U-20 National Team and also the United States U-20 National Team.
Mitchell and Trinidad and Tobago will participate in two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches during the November international break. First, they will face off against Jamaica on Thursday, November 13 at Hasley Crawford Stadium and then they will play Bermuda on Tuesday, November 18.
