Sam Williams Becomes First Academy Player to Reach 2,000 Minutes

In the second minute of New York Red Bulls II’s match against Indy Eleven on July 15, Sam Williams became the first Red Bulls Academy player to reach 2,000 career minutes with the club.

Over the span of two seasons, Williams has accumulated 2,078 minutes over 37 matches with Red Bulls II. The 37 appearances are also a Red Bulls Academy player record.

This season, he ranks fourth on the team in minutes (1,341) and is the only player to appear in every match. He is the youngest player in USL Championship to appear in every match for their respective club this season.

He scored his first professional goal against San Diego Loyal SC on June 2.
